Army arrest five for vandalising ballot boxes in Abuja
No less than five persons have been arrested by the Army for snatching ballot boxes at the Agura Primary School, Zuba, Abuja.
As a result of the development, the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) has subsequently cancelled the results and postponed election in the two units to a later day.
An eyewitness told The Guardian that barely three hours into the exercise, some hoodlums, who were not confortable with the voters support for a particular candidate, decided to hijack two ballot boxes and ran away.
It took the prompt intervention of the army to save situation. Despite the efforts of the military, however, several ballot papers had already been thumb printed and not recovered, a development that made INEC to cancel the entire results
