Army kills 24 Boko Haram terrorists in Borno
Troops of 112 Battalion and 24 Task Force Brigade, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have neutralised over 24 Boko Haram fighters in the Mafa-Dikwa axis of Borno State.
The terrorists were killed during a coordinated fighting patrol with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) on Saturday.
A counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed in Maiduguri, yesterday: “The terrorists hibernating in Sambisa Forest were all killed in Bulakulari, Gwari-Gwazo, Loskori, Limanti and Gaza villages of the Forest.”
He added that the villages were used to attack troops and other law-abiding citizens along the 40-kilometre Maiduguri/Ngo road.
The troops also recovered 40 bicycles and other weapons used in attacking some of the military bases and communities, The Guardian gathered.
He added: “Troops made sure that the entire area were cleared of all suspected terrorists elements.”
