The Convener and President of Christ Compassion to the Rural World (CCRW), Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, has urged President Bola Tinubu to address five key areas of critical need in the country, which according to him, include education, economy, environment, electricity among others to redeem Nigeria’s current situation.

Ashimolowo, who is also the founder of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), said there is a serious challenge in the country that requires citizens to be encouraged and made to be productive.

The cleric, while speaking during a media briefing held at the Basketball Court, Liberty Stadium in Ibadan, yesterday, ahead of the church’s crusade slated for November 25-30 at the same venue, said that government should be sensitive to the plight of Nigerians.

Ashimolowo said the church had concluded arrangements to hold the crusade and would perform 711 surgical operations on patients with different ailments. He said that rice, beans, garri, noodles, sugar, groundnut oil, salt, clothing materials, Bibles, among others, would be distributed to residents of Ibadan.

According to him, “medical services, both minor and major surgeries, will be carried out on indigent citizens by about 200 doctors.” He said that the objective of the project was not only to win souls for Christ but to also administer on the physical needs of the people with love and compassion.

Ashimolowo said: “I advise President Tinubu to carefully address the 5Es: education, economy, environment, electricity (power) and electronics (IT intelligence).

“He should focus on production, making the economy productive rather than giving out palliative handout.

“The Constitution must be revisited to restrict governors from taking unnecessary loans.

“Agriculture must be encouraged; we must be a productive nation and have the capacity to feed ourselves and make massive export too.”
