Atiku’s aide tackles Tinubu over forgery allegation
• ‘Nigerians not supporting my pet project because I’m Atiku’s wife’
An aide of presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has described as inconsequential, attempts by the media team of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to destroy the image of the former vice president.
At a press conference in Abuja, yesterday, Mazi Paul Ibe, who was flanked by two of his colleagues, said Tinubu’s team appears fixated on an inconsequential alleged discrepancy in the day/date of an affidavit deposed to by Atiku to officially change his name over 50 years ago.
He said: “Since the discovery of documents with Chicago State University brought to the fore the litany of certificate forgeries and impersonation by President Tinubu, there have been attempts by many of his media aides to create a parallel narrative about the public life of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
“It was obvious from the start of their journey into futility that what the media aides and supporters of Bola Tinubu were doing was a random bite of the public profile of Atiku Abubakar until they found an item they could chomp with their teeth.”
This came as Atiku’s wife, Titi Abubakar, on Saturday night, claimed Nigerians were neglecting her pet project because she is married to the PDP presidential candidate.
According to her, people refused to support the Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation.
She, however, said she would not be deterred and was determined to ensure complete eradication of women trafficking and child labour across the globe.
She disclosed this in Abuja after she was conferred with the Champion 2023 Leadership (Heart of Gold) Award by Champion Newspapers Limited.
