Bauchi State Governor Mohammed Abubakar yesterday called on Christians in the state to pray for an end to insurgency threatening the country.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Abubakar, who made the appeal in Bauchi in an Easter goodwill message to the people, said: “I will like to appeal for continued prayers to God to bring to an end the current security challenges being faced in the country and particularly the Northeast region.

“Bauchi State and the nation as a whole need continued prayers to overcome the various challenges before us.“We must also preach the virtues of peace and unity among us and cannot afford to allow ourselves to be divided along religious and ethnic lines.”

Abubakar enjoined Christians to imbibe the virtues of Jesus Christ and put them into practice, irrespective of their religious inclination.
