Bello, Tinubu, Idris, Onaiyekan for 2022 Kabba Day in Kogi

Governor Yahaya Bello and All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu are attending the 2022 Kabba Day event holding November 5 at the Kabba Township Stadium, Kogi State as special guest of honour and chairman of occasion.

Also gracing the ceremony, organised by the Kabba Development Union (KDU), is former state governor, Ibrahim Idris, as guest of honour, while the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja (Emeritus), John Cardinal Onaiyekan, has been tipped as father of the day.

A statement issued by Chairman, Central Planning Committee, Femi Olubiyo, said the theme for this year’s event is: “Unity as an essential ingredient in actualising the great potential of Kabba community.”

He hinted that security is key to realisation of agricultural potential of the area would be given prominence.

Olubiyo said the celebration would afford the people to cherish their rich culture and tradition event as a N500 million development fund would be launched to execute projects capable of improving the living standard of the people.

Other dignitaries expected at the event are the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council, Oba (Dr.) Solomon Dele Owoniyi, as royal father of the day, member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Leke Abejide (chief launcher), Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Lokoja, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi (guest speaker), Provost, Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Kabba, Mrs. Olushola Victoria Jagboro (mother of the day) and Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Council, Moses Olorunleke, as chief host.

President-General of KDU, Emmanuel Ajibero is host together with the senator representing Kogi West in the Senate, Smart Adeyemi, Speaker of State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole, member representing Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Ayo Yusuf as co-hosts.

The committee sought of all Kabba sons and daughters for successful hosting of Owe Kabba people and visitors.
