Asks aggrieved members to approach appeal committee
Former Deputy National Vice Chairman (South-West) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has urged aggrieved members of the party to sheathe their swords and project a united front to win the governorship and presidential elections in 2023.

He urged aggrieved members of the party over the outcome of the primaries to approach the appeal committee for adequate actions before June 3.

George, who spoke in Lagos yesterday, while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the party’s primary, urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to perfect plans on electronic voting and transmission of results, saying this will establish the tenets of democracy.

The PDP chieftain also implored members to pledge their unalloyed loyalty to the party, saying that there is no perfect system anywhere, noting that what is constant, and what should be perfect is their commitment to the virtues of the party.

“I know that there are crises in some constituencies. People are looking at us as we are conducting the primaries. They are looking at the quality of management that we are doing. If you ask me how we are faring between zero and 10, I will say about six or seven.”

He pleaded with those who won in the primaries to protect the image of the party and work with the leaders assiduously, saying: “For the flagbearers of the party, it is no longer your name that you are carrying but the platform which is the party. So, you must work with all the managers of the party at your various constituencies. We don’t want any one to put a stain on the reputation of the party.”
