BOI, IFC leverage summit to chart Nigeria’s industrial growth
The Bank of Industry (BOI) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) will host a stakeholder conference today, Monday, February 5, 2024.
Themed “Empowering Futures: A Collaborative Journey in Financing Nigeria’s Industrial Sector,” the groundbreaking event will bring together key players to examine current state of Nigeria’s industrial sector and chart collaborative path for sustainable growth.
Attendees will include industry leaders, top executives from commercial and microfinance banks, insurance companies, and real sector companies as well as SĂ©rgioPimenta, Regional Vice President for Africa at IFC, scheduled to visit Nigeria for the transformative event.
On importance of the summit, Dr Olasupo Olusi, Managing Director and CEO of BOI, said: “As Nigeria’s oldest and largest development financial institution, we are determined to unlock the immense potential of Nigeria’s industrial sector. This conference is a crucial step towards addressing challenges, fostering growth, and forging partnerships that will empower the future of our industrial sector.”
Dahlia Khalifa, IFC’s Regional Director for Central Africa and Anglophone West Africa, emphasised the importance of collaboration, saying, “IFC is committed to supporting Nigeria’s industrial sector. Together with BOI, we aim to bring positive change and contribute to the national economy.”
The event promises to be a turning point, with rich discussions, actionable strategies for transforming the nation’s industrial landscape and networking opportunities to foster collaboration among stakeholders.
