Brazil school shooter found dead in jail cell
A man arrested for killing two teenagers in a school shooting in Brazil this week has been found dead in his jail cell, authorities said Wednesday.
Police are investigating the circumstances after the 21-year-old was found dead Tuesday night, said the public security ministry for the southern state of Parana.
The man, a former student at the school in the southern municipality of Londrina, arrived there Monday morning saying he needed a transcript, then took out a gun and began shooting.
A 17-year-old girl was killed at the scene. A 16-year-old boy later died of his wounds in the hospital.
Authorities said the shooter was immobilized by a teacher, then arrested when police arrived.
A second man suspected of helping plan the attack has also been arrested.
