President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, assured Itsekiri people of Delta State of fair deal, just as he extolled the patriotism of the 21st Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III.

Buhari spoke at the State House, Abuja, while receiving the monarch and some of his chiefs.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, the president was quoted as saying: “I’m grateful for your visit, and impressed by your patriotism. I’ve taken note of your requests, and will work on them as soon as politically possible.”

The monarch, after thanking the Nigerian leader, for sending a high-powered delegation to his coronation, raised a number of issues, including the under-utilisation of the four ports in Warri, Koko, Sapele and Burutu, all in Delta State; reconstitution of the NDDC Board; immortalisation of the first Finance Minister of the country, Chief Festus Okotie-Eboh, and resuscitation of the Ogidigben EPZ project.
