President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State have congratulated former president, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan on his 60th birthday today.

Buhari, on behalf of all Nigerians, joined members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), professional colleagues, associates of Jonathan, and his family in celebrating the unique history of the Nigerian leader who rose from being a deputy governor to becoming president within a short time.

In a statement yesterday, Buhari said Jonathan’s foray into politics and ascendency to the highest political office from a humble riverine background testified to the greatness and inclusiveness of Nigeria’s democracy, and served as an invitation to all those with interest to add value to the nation.

Governor Dickson, in a statement, said attaining 60 years in good health called for celebration.
