Buhari invests N1.338tr in education sector
Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, yesterday said President Muhammadu Buhari’s government has invested N1.338tr into the nation’s education sector in the past four years.
He said the figures have nothing to do with personnel and overhead cost in the sector, which, he disclosed exceeded over N1tr. Adamu, who disclosed this at his valedictory media briefing yesterday in Abuja, explained that in spite of the economic downturn, the Buhari administration has done well in terms of investments on capital expenditure.
He said the Federal Government just approved N25b for public universities, adding that government has concluded plans to establish a National Commission for Secondary Education to regulate secondary schools in the country and also reconstituted tertiary institution visitation panels.
