President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting at a dinner with the leadership of the National Assembly.The dinner, which started around 8:30pm, is holding at the new banquet hall of the Presidential villa, Abuja, also has the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila and the Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege in attendance.

Sources said the leaders may use the opportunity of the dinner to discuss the vexed issue of new ministerial list of those who would form the next cabinet.

The president is yet to send a list of his ministerial nominees to the Senate, weeks after being inaugurated for a second term in office.

The President of the Senate had said that President Buhari will submit the list of ministerial nominees for the consideration and approval of the red chamber this week.

Lawan disclosed this at plenary on Wednesday in reaction to a point of order raised by Senator Bassey Akpan to the effect that the delay in the submission of the list could affect the holidays of the senators. Lawan, told the senators the list will be transmitted before the end of the week adding that he is hopeful the nominees will be screened before July 26.

Those at the dinner include Senator Abdullahi Yahaya – Majority Leader, Senator Ajayi Borofice – Deputy Leader, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu – Chief Whip and Senator Sabi Abdullahi – Deputy Chief Whip.

Others included Emmanuel Bwacha, Phillip Aduda- Minority Whip, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, Ndudi Godwin Elumelu – Minority Leader, Toby Okechukwu – Deputy Minority Leader.

Also at the dinner are the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly matters (Senate), Ita Enang.
It is expected that the leadership of the National Assembly may get the ministerial list of the next cabinet at the closed doors dinner.It was still in progress at press time.
