The Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos has urged Nigerians to give back to society and contribute to uplifting future generations.
The call was made during the donation of 20 Wowbii Interactive Smart Classroom boards to Our Lady of Apostles (OLA) Secondary School, Yaba, Lagos, by the Past OLA Girls Association (POGA).
The donation event, tagged “A Milestone in Transforming African Education,” was sponsored by the 1964/68 and 1965/69 sets, and aimed at building future-ready classrooms within schools under the Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos.
The initiative is designed to support educational institutions in providing quality, technology-driven learning. The event featured hands-on demonstrations of the Wowbii Interactive Boards, showcasing their ability to enable collaborative learning, enhance digital literacy, and prepare students for the demands of an increasingly digital world.
The donation also coincided with the ongoing 70th anniversary celebrations of the school.
Speaking at the event, Chairperson of the OLAOSA 1968/1969 sets, Lieutenant Colonel Margaret-Mary Obigho (rtd), said:
“Here we are today, donating 20 Wowbil interactive boards to our Alma Mater on behalf of the 64/68&65/69 Sets.
“Having reviewed the manuals and literature, I truly appreciate Sister Agnes for recognising the urgency and necessity of these valuable teaching aids for classrooms and academic halls. These boards represent cutting-edge teaching tools for today’s educational environment.
“Our prayer is that both students and teachers will maximise this wonderful opportunity.”
Also speaking, Assistant Director of Education, Lagos Archdiocese, Father Vincent Bankole, said:
“Our mission is to educate and shape the minds of future generations. To achieve this, we need tools that will bring this vision to reality. Having these interactive boards takes us to another level of preparedness for the future.
“As we appreciate OLAOSA, we also appeal to others to contribute as they succeed in life. People supported them, and they should, in turn, support those coming behind.”
In his remarks, General Manager, Sales, Wowbii Interactive, Morakinyo Ipoola, said:
“This event highlights Wowbii’s ongoing commitment to advancing technology-driven education across Africa. Our interactive boards have already been deployed in numerous institutions, including the Deeper Life Group of Schools and over 250 Smart Green Schools across Nigeria.
“The boards are designed to create engaging learning environments and enhance student-teacher interaction through advanced touchscreen technology.
“We are excited to present Wowbii’s cutting-edge solutions as part of our vision to transform classrooms across Africa. Our products are tailored to meet Africa’s educational needs, bridging the gap between traditional and modern teaching methods, and equipping students with essential skills for the digital economy.
