Branch Controller of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Jos, Plateau State, Duniya Yusuf, has presented N150,000 to Assistant Corps Marshal (CAN) of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Zone 4 Headquarters, Ayobami Omiyale.
The money will be used to deworm pupils of the Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) in Sabon Pegi, Jos North Council of the state. The initiative is part of FRSC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), but Omiyale told journalists yesterday that the commission usually deworms the school pupils, adding that they could not go beyond primaries five and six.
He bemoaned the dilapidated nature of the school, which had no toilets and borehole and that the command was moved to reach out to the community.
Omiyale also disclosed that the command has a clinic that attends to the community by deworming the children and helping pregnant women. He added that since fund was of the essence, the command had to contact the Christian Health Association of Nigeria (CHAN) to raise N64, 000 for tablets and other drugs to deworm the pupils.
