CBN ex-dep government, Mailafia, urges President to visit Igangan over carnage
Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and former presidential candidate of African Democratic Party (ADC), Dr. Obadiah Malafia, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to visit Igangan people and commiserate with the victims over the carnage that happened last weekend.
Mailafia, who spoke with The Guardian on a sideline of a programme in Ibadan, warned that failure to do so, more of ‘Igbohos’ would take over to rescue the people.
He said: “We are very angry and heart-broken on what happened in Igangan and we condemn it.
“So, the people are very peaceful and enlightened. They don’t deserve what is happening to them.”
“And if you don’t do it, the youth will take over. Sunday Igboho and his team are waiting. Where the government cannot come to their help, they will help themselves. The choice is yours Mr. President”. He also urged creation of eight regions if Nigeria wanted to go back to the 1963 Constitution.
