Celebrating mothers for their sacrifices, resilience
For their efforts and sacrifices in nourishing, giving quality upbringing to their children and wards, the Centre for Values and Patriotic Reorientation (CVPR) Nigeria, recently celebrated mothers.
At the maiden event in Lagos, tagged Mother’s Day Special (MDS), which coincided with this year’s Mother’s Day, the group hailed mothers for their ability to strike a balance between career and family, and still find the strength to make it to their chosen career summit.
Founder, CVPR, Christopher Elomien, emphasised the key role mothers play in national reorientation. He said: “We are celebrating mothers today because they are necessary partners in our quest to transform the society.”
Chairperson, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Lagos State Chapter, Hajia Sekinah Lawal implored mothers to get their priorities right.
“We need to strike a balance, put our priorities right and ensure the success of these children, not only in their education, but also in their moral well-being.”
Awards were given to the founder of The Flying Doctor, Dr. Ola Brown, founder, LEAP Africa, Mrs Ndidi Nwuneli, and the Chief Executive Officer, Nike Art Gallery, Mrs. Nike Davis.
