Obite, originally from Nigeria, began his academic journey at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO), where he graduated as the top student in the Department of Statistics in 2015, earning a first-class degree with a CGPA of 4.64/5.00. He continued his studies at the University of Ibadan, where he achieved a distinction in his Master’s degree with a CGPA of 6.9/7.0. His academic prowess paved the way for a teaching career at FUTO, where he served as a Lecturer from 2018 to 2022 before pursuing his PhD at ASU.
At ASU, Obite has continued to excel, maintaining a perfect CGPA of 4.0/4.0 and earning prestigious awards, including the Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award and the Dennis Young Graduate and Early Scholar Statistics Award. His PhD research, under the supervision of Professor Shiwei Lan, focuses on developing a novel Bayesian spatiotemporal model for studying infectious diseases—a topic of significant global importance. His research has garnered international recognition, accumulating at least 158 citations, and contributing to his impressive portfolio of 22 peer-reviewed publications.
In addition to his academic achievements, Obite is the founder of OCP Analytics, a company dedicated to providing data analysis services and training in statistical software such as Python, R, and SPSS. Since its inception, OCP Analytics has empowered clients with the tools and knowledge necessary to extract meaningful insights from their data, driving informed decision-making across various industries.
