The Sector Commander, Lagos Sector Command, Federal Road Safety Corps, Olusegun Ogungbemide, has charged Christians to practise safe driving and take measures to safeguard themselves to ensure safety.

He made the call at the Command sensitisation campaign held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Dominion Cathedral, Lagos Province 12, Gowon Estate, Lagos.

In a statement by FRSC Lagos Public Education Officer, Olabisi Sonusi, the Sector Commander, while speaking on the Why do Christians die in Road Traffic Crash, used scriptural verses in the Bible to justify the reason Christians and motorists should avoid getting involved in crashes.

Ogungbemide spoke on the dangers of reckless and distracted driving, worn out and Tokunbo (second hand) tyre, the importance of seat belt usage by all occupants of a vehicle and the need for proper vehicle maintenance and other road tips for safe driving.

The programme, which was at the instance of the Special Marshal Unit of the Church, also had medical outreach where members took a turn to check their blood pressure and also undergo other medical tests, while the medical team gave out free drugs to them.

The Provincial Pastor, Timothy Olaniyan, commended the humanitarian job of saving lives carried out by FRSC and also charged the command to continue in the good works they are doing.
