Church urges FG to declare emergency on South East roads

Worried by the condition of roads in the South East, Living Christ Mission (LCM) has urged the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency on roads in the zone.

Rising from a three-day annual convention yesterday with a communiqué, the church’s leadership also appealed to governments to subsidise fees at tertiary institutions in the country to make formal education accessible and affordable for indigent brilliant students.

The statement signed by the founder’s aide, Prof. Obiekwe Nwanolue, read in part: “In view of the deplorable state of roads in Nigeria, the Federal Government must declare a state of emergency on the South East roads, to enhance socio-economic activities of the region.”

The church, at its administrative headquarters in Onitsha, Anambra State, lamented the pains motorists and commuters were subjected to, appealing for attention to the roads.
