The Class of 1987 set of Cherubim and Seraphim School, Ilorin, has called for the arrest and prosecution of killers of the late Managing Director of Waterview Hotels, Tanke, Ilorin, Mr Augustine Adeniyi Ojo.

Ojo, who was also the Manager of E-Phoenix hotels, Fate and Tanke, Ilorin, was gruesomely murdered by unknown persons, who disguised themselves as visitors to the Water View hotel on the fateful day.

An alumnus of the school , Mr Yinka Obikanye, in a chat with The Guardian, yesterday, said:  “The Police and other law enforcement agents should urgently assist us to track down the killers of one of us, Mr Adeniyi Ojo.

“The alumnus may convene an emergency meeting today to tinker the way forward towards unraveling the killers.
“Leading the team would be some top brass police officers who had emerged from the set of the students.”

The late hotelier, said to be managing chains of other hotels owned by his father, Chief Ojo, who hailed from Okuku, Osun State, was allegedly accosted by some unidentified men outside the gate of the hotel.

According to sources, after a brief chat with the five men by the gate, he urged them into one of the hotel’s rooms for more elaborate discussions.

“The men had to leave the hotel one after the other, evading the attention of the receptionists on duty that day.
“However, when it was getting to the closing hour for the receptionists, they found the car of the late manager neatly parked at its regular spot but could not locate his whereabouts.
“The receptionists became curious and conducted a search for him. His phone was no longer reachable but stumbled on his lifeless body on the bed of one of the rooms in the hotel. His hands and legs were tied. Besides, it was as if they forced down his throat, an unknown deadly chemical. His handset was also missing,” the source added.

Meanwhile, the police in Kwara State led by the newly redeployed Commissioner, Victor Olaiya, has commenced investigations into the death of Ojo.

Spokesperson for the Command, Ajayi Okasanmi, in a statement, said the late Ojo was found motionless in one of the rooms of the hotel.

He said: “A suspected culpable homicide case was reported at A Division in Ilorin September 28, at about 10:00 a.m. by one Kehinde Olaseinde, ‘m’, the supervisor of Water View Hotel, Ilorin. A team of detectives dispatched to the scene were later joined by the Commissioner of Police (CP) Victor Olaiya.

“The deceased, one Adeniyi Ojo, ‘m’, the managing director of the hotel was found lying motionless on the bed in one of the rooms in the hotel.
“The examination of the body shows no sign of physical violence. The body was taken to a hospital where he was confirmed dead, and was deposited at the General Hospital mortuary, Surulere, for an autopsy.
“Meanwhile, a discreet investigation of the case has been ordered by the Commissioner of Police. Details of the investigation will be made public as soon as possible.”
