Cleric sums up Nigeria challenges, terms her a failed state

Charles Ighele
The General Superintendent, Holy Spirit Mission, a.k.a. Happy Family Centre, Bishop Charles Ighele, decrying the high level of insecurity in the country, in addition to failing economy and comatose education sector among others, has described Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari as a failed state for which he should be held responsible.
The cleric, who commented on the state of the nation, said the country under the Buhari’s administration has fulfilled every condition of a failed state with all the indices established.
“President Buhari actually thirsted and hungered after power and as faithful and truthful Nigerians would own up that it was just for the fun of it basing the parameter on the situation of the country.
“He got what he wanted and apparently not for the benefit of Nigerians as he introduced religion, ethnicity, sectionalism to the high level while the debt profile of the country has risen astronomically with little or nothing to show for it in terms of infrastructure.
“The President has surrounded himself with sycophants who will never tell him the truth. Every indices show that this administration has failed woefully with many still dancing to the bad music,” he lamented.
The cleric bemoaned the level of insecurity that has gone to the extent of the National Security Adviser admonishing Nigerians to secure themselves as Abuja is being secured, with further remark that soldiers that are supposed to be vanguard of security in the country are not motivated to fight.
He lamented the down-turn of the economy with exchange rate of dollar rising astronomically, prices of foodstuff skyrocketing, and poor Nigerians finding life very difficult while some who could not survive the trend had died.
He noted that some governors may not buy into the system whereby the country is being run but are afraid to own up for the fear of being indicted.
He, however, assured that there is one true God, who created every man, who is also in charge of every nation, who for his mercies sake will rescue Nigerians from the hands of wicked, self centred politicians, who have ulterior motives and do not mind if the nation is scattered so far they and their families are secured.
This God, he stressed, will rescue poor and innocent Nigerians from the hands of those who do not know Him as God of love, who hates shedding of blood and will certainly bring to book those who delight in shedding human blood.
