Call for renewed faith, moral reflection amid economic hardship, others
The President of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Pastor Samuel Oladele, has called for renewed faith and moral reflection as Nigeria and the global community grapple with worsening economic hardship and insecurity.
Oladele, who spoke during a church service at CAC All Saints’ Chapel, Ibadan, Oyo State, said current developments had heightened uncertainty about the future, stressing that the message of faith offers both assurance and hope.
He said these developments had left many people anxious about the future, noting that the message remains timeless good news with both present and enduring relevance.
Oladele described the message as a core of Christians’ belief, adding that, unlike other forms of “news” that may fade or lose relevance, it remains enduring.
He urged Christians to uphold and share the message, describing it as relevant to both present concerns and future expectations, especially amid prevailing insecurity and economic hardship.
Relatedly, the General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Rev. Sam Aboyeji, yesterday, urged the Federal Government and political leaders in the country to intensify efforts toward addressing the worsening security challenges.
Aboyeji gave the charge during a media briefing organised to herald the 2026 edition of the International Conference for Ministers and Leaders (ICML) of the church.
The conference is scheduled to hold from Monday, April 13 to Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the church’s campground located at Kilometre 75, Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.
According to the cleric, more than 10,000 participants from across Nigeria, West Africa, Europe and other Christian denominations are expected to attend the four-day event, themed “Operating in the Anointing.”
Aboyeji, while outlining preparations for the conference, expressed deep concern over the rising insecurity across the country, particularly the persistent attacks on rural communities in parts of northern Nigeria.
He noted that the painful realities of insurgency, kidnapping and the displacement of communities had continued to threaten lives and livelihoods, stressing that the situation requires urgent and coordinated responses.
The cleric, therefore, called on Christians across all denominations to continue praying for divine intervention, national peace and protection for security personnel confronting those threatening the nation’s stability.
He, however, assured participants of adequate security at the conference venue.
