COEASU FCE Oyo elects Adeleke Wasiu chairman

Comrade Adeleke Wasiu Adewale has been elected as the new Chairman of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), FCE (Special), Oyo Chapter, succeeding Comrade Mathias Kolawole Oluwo.

The election also produced other new executives: Comrade Ajao Ibrahim S. as Treasurer, Comrade David Monday Onoja as General Secretary, and Comrade Bakare Musbau Tope as Public Relations Officer.

The outcome has been hailed as a fresh chapter for the union. In a goodwill message, the Chairman of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), Comrade Badmus Tolulope Adekunle, congratulated Adeleke and described his emergence as “a new dawn” for both COEASU and the entire college community.
“The election of Comrade Adeleke Wasiu Adewale signals a new era of purposeful leadership, progressive engagement, and collective advancement. I believe his tenure will be marked by strategic collaboration, open dialogue, and meaningful outcomes that will further strengthen industrial harmony in our college,” Badmus said in a statement signed by NASU Secretary, Comrade Pariesho.

Badmus also assured that NASU would work closely with the newly elected COEASU leadership to promote staff welfare, institutional growth, and sustained excellence within the college system.

As the new executive team takes over from the outgoing Chairman, Comrade Mathias Kolawole Oluwo, expectations are high that their leadership will foster stronger cooperation among unions and improve the working conditions of academic staff.

The election marks another milestone in the union’s history, with members hopeful that the new leadership will consolidate past achievements and drive innovative reforms for the benefit of the college community.
