Command old students mourn Lagbaja, condole with army, family

The Command Secondary School, Ipaja, Lagos Old Students’ Association (CSSLOSA) has extended heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian Army and the family of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja.

It would be recalled that Lagbaja died on November 5, 2024, at the age of 56.

The condolence was contained in a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Demola Sanyaolu, and made available to journalists in Ibadan on Thursday.

The statement, extracted from a condolence letter jointly signed by the alumni President, Taiwo Ayedun, and General Secretary, Anthonia Eke, expressed sorrow over the loss of an esteemed leader.

In the letter addressed to the Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Olatunbosun Oluyede, CSSLOSA acknowledged the tremendous contributions of General Lagbaja to the nation and their alma mater.

They described his death as a significant loss, not only to his family and the Army but also to the entire nation.

The condolence message lauded General Lagbaja’s dedication, stating: “The leadership and entire membership of the Command Secondary School Lagos Old Students’ Association (CSSLOSA) are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Lt.-Gen. Lagbaja.

“He served with honour and distinction, making his absence deeply felt across the country.”

The association lauded Lagbaja’s enduring support for Command Secondary School, Lagos, and extended their sympathies to his family.

CSSLOSA prayed that Almighty God grant him eternal rest and wished his family strength during this time of grief.
