The Edo State Health Insurance Commission (EDOHIC) has celebrated the Adewale family, who recently welcomed a set of triplet girls at Berta Medical Centre, Benin City, under the State Health Insurance Scheme, a development hailed as a testament to Governor Monday Okpebholo’s healthcare vision.
A delegation from the Commission, led by the Director of Customer Success, Mrs. Aya Femi-Monye, visited the family to convey the congratulations of the Director-General, Dr. (Mrs.) Augusta Ikpea-Enaholo, and presented gift items to the newborns.
Mrs. Femi-Monye described the safe delivery and postnatal care enjoyed by Mrs. Adewale as a validation of Governor Okpebholo’s SHINE Agenda, which prioritises accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare for all Edo residents.
She emphasised that maternal and child health remains central to the governor’s reforms and assured that the Commission would continue to expand healthcare access for families across the state.
“The quality of care received by Mrs. Adewale is a clear demonstration of His Excellency’s vision to ensure no Edo resident suffers financial hardship in accessing healthcare,” she said.
Expressing their gratitude, Mr. and Mrs. Adewale thanked Governor Okpebholo, Dr. Ikpea-Enaholo, Berta Medical Centre, and the EDOHIC team for their support throughout the delivery process.
They noted that the health insurance scheme eased the financial burden of multiple births and strengthened their trust in the state’s healthcare system.
