The newly appointed Commissioner for Information and Orientation in Ondo State, Idowu Ajanaku, has assured that the ministry under his leadership will be revitalised as a dynamic communication body for the state.
Ajanaku, who assumed duty at the ministry on Wednesday, stated that the state’s information infrastructure and public engagement will be improved.
While meeting with members of the ministry’s management team led by the Administrative Secretary, Mr. Lanre Akarakiri, the new Information Commissioner highlighted the importance of unity among media stakeholders in the state, promising to promote harmony and collaboration among media professionals.
Ajanaku, who recounted his experience working with former Lagos State governors Babatunde Raji Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode, said, “I rose from grass to grace, learning the ropes from scratch. I am ready to deploy every experience I’ve gathered to promote the administration of Governor Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and the enormous potential of Ondo State to the global community.”
“This ministry will be lifted to a high pedestal. All hands must be on deck as we take on this collective task,” he said.
On his part, the Administrative Secretary of the ministry, Akarakiri, said, “You are coming on board at a time when the state’s information apparatus needs the touch of a seasoned professional. We believe your wealth of experience will bring the desired transformation.”
With the Director of Accounts, Dr. Bola Oladipo, praying for divine guidance for the commissioner, the ministry, and the state, the Director of Finance and Administration, Mrs. Etaname Ogunmoniwo, assured the commissioner of the full cooperation of the staff.
“We are ready to do the needful to move both the ministry and Ondo State closer to the land of promise,” he said.
