The chairman of Badagary local government area of Lagos State Olusegun Onilude, has hailed Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and the people of area on the successful completion of Ajara-Agelasho-poka-Erekiti road and bridge.

Onilude said the people of Badagry were pleased with the governor that their long expectation has been met in collaboration with Chinese Gezuonba Group of Company Limited (CGGC)
CGGC.

He said: “ We know that the work has been in stages do far. First, we had the initial stage and then it has now been completed due to the diligent construction done by the CGGC and the co-operation of the people living in that community.

“We are happy and we are also pleased that we have lived to see this happening in our own time. As you can see during our site inspection, the bridges have been done along with some roads. We hope the remaining uncompleted part of the road which extends into some of the communities will be done by the state government and CGGC, a company which is the 33rd largest contractor by revenue in the world which is in turn a member company of the China energy engineering corporation CGGC, primarily engaged in contract construction of projects, operating in the areas of power plants, dams, roads, bridge just as seen in the successful completion of Ajara-Agelasho-pokka-Erekiti road and bridge. All the materials being used are of high quality and the bridge is very strong and the communities are proud of the bridge and the road.”

He said the road has many advantages for the people of Badagry: “It links our communities in Ajara, Agelasho, Itoun, Agbovipe, Erekiti, Iragon Iragbo and Ikoga together. If I want to go to Ikoga now, I can drive there in minutes instead of merry-go-round journey through the expressway, which will take hours. As it is now, we save time and fuel especially at this trying economic period. The road also boosts our business as the farmers are now able to easily take their produce to various markets.”

Baale of Erekiti, Chief Wahab Ashade, said prior to the road project done by CGGC contractors through the state government, the wooden bridge was very shaky but now very strong.
