Cross River State government has concluded arrangements to restore electricity supply and maintenance of the electricity infrastructure to Bekwara Local Government Area.

Recall that Bekwara has been without electricity for the past 15 years.

The Director General of the Cross River State Electrification Agency (SEA), Mr. Francis Ekpo, who disclosed this Wednesday in Calabar, said Governor Bassey Otu has directed the immediate deployment of engineers to sites to ensure that the people of Bekwara have a good electricity supply.

Ekpo further disclosed that all the communities in the state without electricity will be provided with electricity, appealing to other communities without power supply to exercise patience with the governor as every community will feel the impact of electricity.

The Director General also appeals to the chiefs, elders, youths, and every member of the community in Bekwarra on the need to take total control and develop proactive measures to secure the assets and other equipment once installed to avert vandalism.
