In a bid to strengthen youth participation in Nigeria’s open governance initiatives, PROMAD Infotech Foundation, Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (NYFF), the Nigeria Open Government Partnership (OGP) Secretariat, and the Socio-Economic Research and Development Centre (SERDEC) have partnered to host six regional dialogues across the country.
In a joint press statement issued by the organisation and sent to our correspondent, the organisation explained that the dialogues were scheduled to take place from now to October 2025.
They stated that the goal was to boost youth involvement in the co-creation process of Nigeria’s fourth National Action Plan (NAP IV) for the Open Government Partnership.
According to them, the regional dialogues will “bring youth to the table and bridge the gaps identified in previous NAPs, which lacked a deliberate focus on youth inclusion.”
“We are excited to partner with these organisations to amplify youth voices in Nigeria’s open governance initiatives.
“By doing so, we can ensure that our next NAP IV reflects the ideas and aspirations of young people”, said a representative from the OGP Secretariat.
They noted further that PROMAD will lead the regional dialogues in South-West, South-South, and North-Central Nigeria, while NYFF will lead the dialogues in South-East, North-East, and North-West Nigeria, culminating in a national convening.
