The Lagos State Government has called on investors within the Lekki Free Trade Zone to take issues of sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) very serious, as it is key to securing the multi-billion dollar investment in that corridor.
The government also said this would help to prevent the constant face-off between host communities and investors being witness in parts of the country.
Speaking yesterday at the end of a three-day workshop on communication and team building skills for effective interfacing on community service and relations, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, represented by the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Lekki Worldwide Investments Limited, Popson Jaiyesimi, expressed keenness about issues of community engagement, especially on the Lekki corridor, because research has revealed that the zone is the future of Nigeria business.
“The fundamental thing is to make sure that there is security, and it comes when the communities are working in tandem with the investors,” he stated.
