Customs FOU Zone B makes N360.2m seizure in 40 days
The Nigeria Customs Service, Federal Operations Unit, Zone B Command, Kaduna, has recorded seizures with duty paid value of N360, 227,250.00 from renewed anti smuggling onslaught in the last 40 days.
The items seized include, 155 parcels of Indian hemp, 3,342 bags of 50kg foreign rice re-bagged with local bags to deceive unsuspecting consumers, 34 motor vehicles and other contraband items in various locations within the zone comprising 10 states.
The FOU Zone B comprises 10 states within the Northwest and North Central geopolitical zones with Kaduna as its administrative headquarters, while the unit’s anti smuggling activities stretches around Kaduna, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kogi, Kwara and Niger states.
Meanwhile, the Area Controller of the command, Mustapha Sarkin-Kebbi, who paraded the items to newsmen in Kaduna, expressed confidence that his men will sustain the tempo of anti-smuggling activities within the zone.
Sarkin-Kebbi assured that the unit would not relent in its effort to rid the zone of all smuggling activities.
