Dafinone empowers 2500 constituents in Delta State to cushion hardship
Senator Ede Dafinone, representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate, has brought much-needed relief to over 2,500 constituents through the distribution of essential items. The initiative, aimed at addressing the economic hardships faced by many, included grinding machines, generators, sewing machines, make-up kits, food items, and other empowerment tools.
The distribution event took place at Dafinone’s company premises in Amukpe, Delta State. In his address, Senator Dafinone urged Nigerians to remain patient and assured them that the government is aware of the prevailing economic challenges.

“The economy has not been kind to Nigerians, especially those at the lower rung of the ladder,” he said. “We are aware of the hunger in the land and have deemed it necessary to support the less privileged.”
Dafinone explained that the current economic conditions, including increased fuel prices, dollar exchange rates, and food costs, are the result of policies designed to strengthen the economy in the long term. “It’s like taking a bitter pill; it’s unpleasant now, but it’s for the long-term benefit. The government is committed to ameliorating the pains associated with these measures.”
Addressing recent protests, Dafinone acknowledged the hardships being faced by Nigerians and emphasised that the government is listening. “The protests are a reflection of the people’s hardship,” he said. “We are taking steps to alleviate these challenges. This empowerment programme is a testament to our commitment.”

He further commended President Bola Tinubu for his bold decisions, particularly the removal of the fuel subsidy, describing it as a long-overdue step. “The President is aware of the people’s suffering and is implementing palliatives to cushion the effects,” he added.
Vic Obakpolor, the woman leader of the Dafinone Foundation and Dafinone Cooperative, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the empowerment programme. “Working with Senator Dafinone has been a seamless experience,” she said.
A beneficiary, Innocent Ededegba from Ughelli South, lauded the senator for the initiative. “This gesture is a huge relief to our people, especially in these challenging times,” he said.

Dafinone, who has been in the business of empowering his people for the past 18 years, gave out palliatives to those who deserve it the most. Beneficiaries were selected across the eight local governments that make up Delta Central Senatorial District.
