Dateline 2027: APC says Nigeria won’t return to ‘years of the locusts’

Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that Nigeria has “irreversibly moved beyond” what it described as the “years of the locusts,” warning voters against returning to past leadership failures as the 2027 elections approach.

In a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, the party chided the opposition figures now aligning under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accusing them of repackaging themselves as reformers despite long years in power.

Meanwhile, a former member of the House of Representatives under the APC platform, Lanre Odubote, has urged the incumbent lawmaker representing Epe Federal Constituency, Wale Raji, to step down after three consecutive terms.

IN another development, the campaign organisation of Lagos State governorship aspirant, Dr Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has constituted a 2,690-member committee to strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the APC governorship direct primaries in the state.

The development was announced in a statement yesterday by the Spokesperson of the Jagaban-Jandor 2027 Campaign Organisation, Gbenga Ogunleye.

According to the statement, the committee was structured to align with the political framework of Lagos State, with members drawn from the 245 political wards, the 20 local councils and the state level.
