
Pa. Ganiyu Davies, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of LAGOSOGUN Mineral and Farm Resources Limited, who made the call recently in Lagos, said this would provide enough food for the people, enhance the country foreign exchange through cash crops export.
Davies also urged government to draft all unemployed graduates into large-scale farming as a way of solving the problem of youth unemployment.
“The economic, security and social situation in the country called for an emergency action. The government should also diversify the economy by investing in other mineral resources,” he declared.
He enjoined the President Muhammadu Buhari administration to take a cue from the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s agricultural policy, by establishing farm settlements, rubber plantations as well as boosting food production and cash crops for export.
