Defence alerts on criminals disguised in military uniform
Sequel to the report that men disguise in military uniforms are carrying out heinous crimes in some parts of the country, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has issued a warning to the General public to be cautious, even as the Army has confirmed the arrest of a woman dressed in full military fatigue, wearing the rank of a Major.
A statement issued by the Director Defence Information (DDI) Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar yesterday, in Abuja, said the notice of caution became expedient following intelligence report that terrorists, as well as, other criminals have deviced a new way of accessing public places to carry out their evil intentions.
He said the reported killing of some security operatives guiding a facility in Rivers State by men purportedly dressed in military uniform, as well as, the arrest of a woman who dressed up in full military camouflage wearing the rank of a Major, points to the information gathered.
Abubakar said the public is “advised to be more vigilant in crowded places as terrorists can disguise in any form to achieve their evil intents, including the use of military uniforms.”
