Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in Delta State have passed a vote of confidence in Senator Joel Thomas Onowakpo, representing Delta South Senatorial District, in recognition of his commitment to good governance and regional development.
The endorsement came during a meeting held in Warri, where the groups reviewed oil companies’ activities and discussed the implementation of local content policies in the state.
Speaking on behalf of the CSOs, Professor Awaah Nelson praised Senator Onowakpo’s leadership qualities, citing his competence, character, and educational background as driving forces behind his effective representation. He expressed confidence in the senator’s capacity to continue advancing the interests of Delta South in the National Assembly.
The organisations noted that Senator Onowakpo’s developmental strides cut across all eight Local Government Areas in the senatorial district, with visible projects and initiatives serving as evidence of his results-oriented approach.
They also called on the South-South Development Commission to prioritise projects that address pressing regional needs, while emphasising the importance of transparency and accountability in their execution.
The CSOs’ vote of confidence is expected to further strengthen Senator Onowakpo’s efforts to promote inclusive growth and sustainable development across Delta South.
