Dickson urges opposition to influence federal presence in Bayelsa
The Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has urged his political opponents in the All Progressives Congress (APC) to use their contacts to bring federal presence to the state by influencing appointments and projects, rather than embark on divisive tendencies to polarise the people of the state.
The governor who arrived at the Government House, Yenagoa yesterday, also criticised the non-inclusion of Bayelsa indigenes in key federal appointments by the APC led government, in line with the principle of federal character.
A statement yesterday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, noted that the state deserves adequate representation, considering its contribution to the national economy.
Dickson spoke at the state’s Monthly Praise Night at the palace of Melchizedek, in Toru Orua, his hometown in Sagbama LGA of the state.
