Speaking at the handing over ceremony recently, the Executive Director of Do Good Charity Initiative, Mrs. Folakemi Adesina, said toilet facilities are crucial to any society, especially in a learning environment. “At Do Good Charity Initiative, we’re very concerned about having good toilets in schools. This would encourage children to stay back in school. ”
On her part, the Head, Social Mobilization, Kosofe Local Council, Mrs. Odubayo Comfort, added that the 12 rooms toilet had been abandoned for years until they were renovated by the organisation. In her words, “the children are so happy to have these toilets on the block.” It’s not like they would want to use the toilet and think of running back home or messing up the environment. Just like Oliver Twist, we are still expecting more from the organisation.”
She further directed the Headmistress and non-teaching staff of the school to make provisions for more cleaners for proper maintenance of the newly renovated facility. Odubayo hopes that more people will take the initiative to do similar good, so the world can be a better place.
The project was supported by Hilden Charitable Foundation and the handing over ceremony had in attendance members of the Parent Teachers’ Association, teachers, pupils, and volunteers of Do Good Charity Initiative.
