Dogara faults Jibrin over alleged $20, 000 bribe to lawmakers
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has faulted claims by House member and former chairman of the Appropriation Committee, Abdulmumin Jibrin, that he dished out $20, 000 bribe to nine members of the committee.
Dogara, in a statement signed by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. C. Maduabum, he expressed shock over the claim, adding: “This has confirmed that Jibrin is a serial blackmailer.
“I wish to state that I did not at any time meet or hand over any money of any sort to any member of the House Appropriations Committee.
“This accusation is not only a lie, but also pure fiction, a figment of his imagination, which can only come from a man whose soul is deeply corrupted.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Dogara did not give me any money to distribute to any member of the House or indeed any member of the committee.
“The Speaker is a decent man, a man of high intellect, integrity and character. He does not need to do so, as the members are adults who can hold their own positions and can defend themselves.”
