Dokubo-Asari lauds Benin Republic’s hospitality, business investments

Elem Kalabari monarch, Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, has highlighted his longstanding diplomatic and personal relationships with the Republic of Benin for over two decades through educational and business investments.

Dokubo-Asari was among more than 6,000 dignitaries from across the world who witnessed the inauguration of President Ramona Wadagni in the Republic of Benin following the formal handover of power by former President Patrice Talon.

The ceremony, held at the Palais des Congrès in Cotonou, attracted world leaders, diplomats, business figures, royals and traditional rulers from different countries.

Dokubo-Asari’s presence at the inauguration was widely seen as a reflection of his longstanding personal relationship with the newly inaugurated president.

The Kalabari monarch described the visit as one rooted in friendship and mutual respect built over many years.

The Kalabari monarch has maintained strong ties with the Republic of Benin for over two decades through educational and business investments.

He is the proprietor of King Amachree International Children’s School, which has hosted students from several African countries, including Ghana, Togo, Congo and Nigeria.

He has also invested in real estate, hospitality and other ventures in the country, strengthening his longstanding relationship with the West African nation.

Accompanying him to the inauguration were prominent Kalabari chiefs and associates, including businessman Dr. EMI Membere-Otaji, Dr. David Briggs and Prince Tonye Princewill.

Speaking after the ceremony, Dokubo-Asari described the Republic of Benin as a country that has shown him friendship and acceptance over the years.

“The Republic of Benin has been a second home to me. I have always enjoyed the hospitality of the great people of this country, and I am here on the invitation of the President to honour him and this great nation,” he said.

The visit also highlighted the monarch’s longstanding diplomatic and personal relationships across West Africa, where he is regarded as an influential traditional figure with extensive regional connections.

On his way into the Republic of Benin through the Seme border a few days before the inauguration, Dokubo-Asari also paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Deputy Comptroller General of Immigration, exchanging pleasantries and taking photographs with immigration officials and members of his entourage.
