Dominion TV, the Christian lifestyle television network, has announced plans to end its broadcast on GBC Free-to-Air, DStv, and GOtv on October 31, 2025, as it transitions into Dominion Studios, a new media venture focused on producing value-driven African originals for digital and streaming platforms.
“We are not closing down; we are evolving,” said Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Founder of Dominion TV, and his wife, Rosa Whitaker, in a joint message to viewers.
“With divine strategy and foresight, Dominion TV is transforming into Dominion Studios to bring Africa’s stories, values, and creativity to the world,” Archbishop Duncan-Williams said.
Rosa Whitaker added that the studio’s creation is inspired by the success of A Taste of Sin (Netflix) and *Human Nature* (Showmax), which demonstrated strong global demand for authentic African storytelling.
“Dominion Studios will build on that momentum to deliver uplifting, world-class content that celebrates African voices and values,” she stated.
Dominion Studios has already begun developing original productions and forming partnerships with visionary creators and distributors across Africa and beyond, to amplify Africa’s presence on global entertainment platforms.
As part of this transformation, Dominion Studios has appointed veteran Ghanaian television producer and filmmaker, Paa Kwesi Ackom, as its first Chief Executive Officer, to lead its next phase of creative expansion and international growth.
To mark the transition, Dominion TV will dedicate its final month of broadcast to celebrating its legacy and loyal audience across Africa.
The farewell programming will feature never-before-seen content and highlight the network’s distinction of having reached 49 African countries with 24-hour inspirational programming.
The final broadcast season will also showcase Dominion TV’s vast archive of sermons, prayers, and teachings from its founder, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, as it bids farewell to television and steps into a new era of digital storytelling.
