Don urges government to revive railway system

A professor of Business Management at the University of Jos (UNIJOS), Peter Emeka Arinze, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to, as a matter of priority, revive the defunct Nigerian Railway System in the country.

In a statement yesterday, Arinze said reviving the system would be part of a legacy, which the citizens will not forget in a hurry as it will impact positively on their lives, especially the less privileged.

“The rail system will increase the standard of living of Nigerians. It will remove some social problems we encounter today. Whenever we have feasts such as Sallah, Christmas or Easter, the Nigerian transporters will always increase the price of transportation more than 100 per cent without any increase in the price of fuel,” the don said.
