DPR places returning foreign staff on compulsory self-isolation
To control the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), North-east Zonal Operations Offices, will place its staff returning from foreign assignments to Nigeria on compulsory self-isolation.
The North-east Zonal Operations Controller, Alhaji Ibrahim Ciroma, stated this yesterday while declaring open a sensitisation workshop on coronavirus organised by the DPR, noting that the objective of the workshop was for medical experts to educate members of staff on how to avoid contacting the virus.
He said the sensitisation workshop was one of the proactive measures put in place by DPR to help curtail the spread of the deadly virus in the country.
“There is has been apprehension in the region since the confirmation of coronavirus in Nigeria. Some governors in the zone have already activated their medical facilities against any eventuality,” he stated.
According to Ciroma, the workshop was organised at the instance of the national headquarters.
