Governor David Umahi has handed over N19 million 2016 Prado Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) to each member of the Ebonyi State Executive Council to boost their performance.

Umahi, who handed over the cars to the commissioners yesterday in Abakaliki, said that they agreed on N15.5 million for the supply of each vehicle when a dollar was about N300, but the exchange rate later changed the price to N19 million.

The governor had given each of the 24 members of the House of Assembly a Prado SUV in July and his special assistants received theirs last month except a few who are expected to be given alongside the remaining commissioners this week.

Hmm. Living the high life with other people’s money. This is a typical example of unnessecary wastage. Were there no cars before. No carpool? And each car comes with an additional burden of driver, security, fuel and maintenance. Each new official will refurnish his offices and homes, get new cars, change the paranphalia of his office with funds that could build roads, clinics schools, pay teachers salaries. Nigerians. Haba what kind of foolish people are we? It’s beyond words.

Wicked, mean, heartless, horrible governor…..how can you spend the State money like that? would he have bought N19m car for his staff if ebonyi state is his business? 24 members of house of assembly plus about 30 commissioners @ N19m is N1.026 billion when some people in the state can’t eat, hospitals are without drugs, the roads are not motor-able…..GOD why do we have wicked and heartless people as our leaders?

Dumb governor. That money would give microloan of N50,000.00 to 20,000 traders. You can imagine how much live you would have impacted with that.

When you have governors that lack discretions, this is what you encounter. Spponfeeding the rich and further destroying the poor. All these are non earning and depreciating assets that add no value to the state’s coffers.

This is one of the poorest states Nigeria,..the Governor is spending ‘Bailout Fund’ on cars,.. creating additional debt and hardship for future generations of the state.
