
EDO State Deputy Governor, Pius Odubu, yesterday pledged to build on the legacies of his boss, Governor Adams Oshiomhole if given the opportunity to serve as the next chief executive from November this year.
He made the promise while playing host to a Europe-based group, Edo League of Professionals, who visited him at his country home in Orhionmwon Local Council of the state.
Led by Dr. Lugard Isibor, had said they were impressed by Odubu’s public service credentials and found him fit to succeed Oshiomhole.
Meanwhile, the the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended its Vice Chairman and Senatorial Leader in Edo South, Gentleman Amegor for alleged anti-party activities.
In a statement signed Pa Ogbomo, Henry Okhuarobo, Henry Idahagbon, incent Uwadiae, Chief Benson Osifo, among others, the party said the decision was taken at its meeting yesterday.
“The leaders lamented the lacklustre leadership of the party at the senatorial district and observed that the State Vice Chairman and Senatorial leader, Barr. Gentleman Amegor, failed woefully in implementing the laudable objectives contained in the party’s constitution,” the statement read in part.
