The Edo first lady gave the charge, yesterday, during the inauguration of Edo State College of Nursing Sciences (EDOCONS) in Benin City and the commissioning of the institution’s new Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Hub, where she declared open a capacity building workshop for the students.
Addressing the workshop, she urged the students to recognise their value and to place human life above pecuniary benefits.
Mrs. Obaseki, who lauded the upgraded infrastructure in EDOCONS, adjudged as the best in West Africa, expressed confidence that the institution would replicate the same in the quality of graduates it churns out.
Responding, the Commissioner for Health, Prof. Obehi Akoria, called for humility among healthcare practitioners.
She said: “Our profession calls for humility, and as we merge humility with professionalism, Edo will blaze the trail in the healthcare space globally and they will be saying, ‘that is a heart doctor, that is a heart nurse; no wonder, they come from the Heartbeat of Nigeria’.”
