The Onojie of Ekpoma, His Royal Highness, Zaiki Anthony Abumere ll, has urged the Federal Government to urgently effect repairs on the Benin-Ekpoma-Auchi Expressway to alleviate the suffering of road users.

The monarch, who described the condition of the highway as shameful, said that no country in the 21st Century should have a road in such deplorable condition, let alone, a country that prides itself as the giant of Africa.

The Onojie of Ekpoma, stated this, yesterday while addressing newsmen on the deplorable condition of the highway.

He, therefore, appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to give marching orders to the Federal Ministry of Works, Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and the contractor handling dualisation of the section of the road to urgently fix the road.

The monarch also urged the Federal Government to tackle the incidence of kidnapping on the highway, lamenting that the insecurity on the expressway makes it hellish for those playing it.
