Edoho questions low standards in Omokri’s praise for fuel availability
Media personality Frank Edoho has criticised former presidential aide Reno Omokri for praising President Bola Tinubu’s administration over the absence of fuel queues during the festive season.
Omokri, in a post on his X account, described this year’s yuletide season as historic, noting that it was the first in Nigeria’s history without fuel scarcity or long queues at petrol stations.
“Fuel price has reduced and there are no fuel queues or petrol scarcity, and for the first time, Nigeria is exporting refined petroleum products to Europe, the Middle East and Africa” Reno wrote.
He also cited reduced fuel prices, Nigeria’s export of refined petroleum products, the introduction of free interstate public transport for the holidays, the payment of a new minimum wage to federal workers, and a decline in insecurity.

He acknowledged that the country still faced challenges but argued that improvements were evident, saying Nigerians had “enough reasons to smile this period.”
Edoho, however, dismissed Omokri’s remarks, describing the absence of fuel queues as a low standard for measuring progress in an oil-producing country.
“We are so third world that the absence of fuel queues and fuel scarcity in a so-called oil-producing country is regarded as a sign that things are getting better. Reno, please stop.” he said.
The exchange has drawn mixed reactions, with some Nigerians agreeing with Edoho’s stance, while others supported Omokri’s optimistic perspective on the administration’s achievements.
