EFCC declares businessman wanted over alleged N23b bribe
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Managing Director of Aiteo Group, Mr. Benedict Peters, wanted over the N23 billion allegedly given to officials of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).
The EFCC said the billionaire businessman was wanted for questioning for alleged diversion of funds, money laundering and criminal conspiracy.
Head of Media and Publicity at the Commission, Wilson Uwujaren, said in a statement that the suspect is dark-complexioned and hails from Abakaliki Local Council of Ebonyi State.
“His last known address is 8B Agodogba Avenue, Parkview Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos,” Uwujaren noted.
Another EFCC official noted: “All attempts to get him have proved abortive. We currently do not know where he is and he is hardly ever in one place.
“We have launched investigations into the companies that gave Diezani money in form of kickbacks. About $60 million came from Northern Belt Gas Company Limited.
